This is a different project and isn't in Kernersville.

Amazon seemed to go wild in Guilford County, building a massive warehouse on the Kernersville side of Guilford County, a Forsyth County distribution facility on the Kernersville side of Guilford County (shouldn't this be in Forsyth County?), constructing a Guilford County distribution center that I think may have had a High Point address, and they proposed another massive warehouse on the far southern end of Greensboro.

This cancelled project is that massive $200 million 1,000 job warehouse proposal on the far southern end of Greensboro. Williams Development acquired the land, cleared it, and may have started grading it when Amazon cancelled the project around April of this year. Work stopped and the site is now back on the market.

A prolific Triad developer and contractor has plans for a large development with multifamily housing, office and retail space in a location convenient to Winston-Salem and Greensboro.

Blue Ridge Cos. of High Point obtained the needed zoning last week from the Town of Kernerville Board of Aldermen for its 38-acre piece of property at 5340 Macy Grove Road, between U.S. 421 and Interstate 40. The property is one-half mile from U.S. 421 and less than one mile from I-40.

Kernersville is growing.

including a 1-million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center.
from the article - is a fulfillment center anything like a distribution center?

It appears this section of Kernersville falls into Forsyth County (only a few hundred yards from Guilford County), so Forsyth County should benefit from the tax revenue.

A distribution center collects wholesale goods and distributes them to retailers. A fulfillment center, on the other hand, prepares specific orders for end-customers and ships them directly to the consumer. So distribution centers are waypoints in the supply chain--middlemen between manufacturers/wholesalers and retailers--while fulfillment centers effectively are the retailers.
