What happened with Pulliam's?

I thought there was one. And for publicity stunts cannot one also indicate there’s a Theater District meaning Stevens Center and Hanes Theater/Sawtooth?

Encore Bank will move into a 4,547-square-foot space on the second floor of the Bailey South building at 450 Patterson Ave. in Winston-Salem's Innovation Quarter. The bank announced it had signed a lease on Monday.

Encore, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, announced an ambitious growing plan last fall. Formerly known as the Capital Bank, rebranded Encore is a privately held boutique bank offering full services with a concierge approach.

Encore, one of the country's fastest growing banks, has expanded to 19 markets in nine states with $2.3 billion in assets. According to its website, Encore has locations "coming soon" in Charlotte as well as Charleston and Greenville in South Carolina. TBJ reported in November that the bank is also considering opening branches in in Raleigh, Wilmington and Asheville.

Yay, I can't wait for people to just leave there car in the middle of Patterson or Fourth to run to the ATM like they do at Wells Fargo.

I don't suspect you will have to worry about that with Encore Bank. I don't believe they really try to attract retail customers. They are mainly a business bank.

Their website home page has a video from one of their offices. I suspect this is how the interior will look at Bailey.

Per proprietor Antonina Whaples, Kindred Spirits will be relocating from the Downtown "Arts District" after 21 years at 537-A N. Trade St. effective December 31, 2022.
A new location has not been announced.

What do we think? Rents getting too expensive?

"It's complicated" seems to be the only info being shared at this time . . . other than that they do not plan to relocate Downtown.

Finnigan’s Wake building sold for $713,000

I hope Brian Cole new about this deal prior to announcing the reopening of Finnigan's Wake. Here's the article from the WSJ.

"The downtown Winston-Salem property that has a revived Finnigan’s Wake as a tenant has been purchased for $713,000, according to a Forsyth County Register of Deeds filing Tuesday. The 0.09-acre property at 620 N. Trade St. contains a 2,783-square-foot space. The buyer is listed at 620 Building LLC of Winston-Salem. The sellers are trusts associated with Natalie and Robert Miller of Chattanooga, Tenn. The restaurant and bar closed in October after 15 years in business as a mainstay in the heart of the Downtown Arts District.

In May, Brian Cole, through his company the Cole Group, bought the Finnegan’s Wake business with plans to reopen it this summer. Cole has long been involved in downtown and Trade Street in particular. Cole is a partner in Silver Moon Saloon on Trade. Cole Group also is a partner in Hoots Beer Co. and Carlisle’s Pub, and Cole also has an event company, Random Task Management."

A new restaurant called the Powder Room is opening @ 1016 Burke St according to Smitty’s notes. It’s described as a luxury cafe experience featuring gourmet coffees, signature prepared light bites for breakfast and lunch. A selection of fine wines and select distilled spirits will also be offered. The site will be available for interior and Al fresco private events.
