If the state removes the Liberty-Main ramps from Business I-40, 200 West First Street could become a viable site, at Corpening Plaza, for some type of development? Corpening Plaza was a development magnet in the 1990s, filling all of the Super Block sites around it. If the removal of the ramps opens the site up more, could we see this become a desirable site for development, with a view of the park? This site has the best view of the park.

- Visibility From Business I-40
- Access to the Strollway
- Can Walk to Old Salem
- Dramatic Views of the Fountains at Corpening Plaza
- If the Bridge Looks Nice, This Site Will Have A Great View of It.
- Future Streetcar Access In The Second (Old Salem / UNCSA Extension) Phase?

Do you think we could see something here in the 2020s? If so, what? I've imagined a 10-storey office building on this site, including above ground parking levels (maybe 7 office floors and 3 parking floors). Of course residential is attractive for the park side of the site and maybe the Old Salem side too? Could this become the site that could introduce residential to the Super Block area or is noise from the expressway too much of an issue? The original plans for the Super Block included condos in the 1980s.

I think this has potential to become one of the more desirable sites downtown for something big. This area also doesn't look good from the park or Strollway and it would be nice to do something with it.
