Other than what Stitch is doing to West Salem, I think the majority of close-in neighborhoods in W-S are safe from this horrendous trend. Here in Charlotte, it's like pic a neighborhood, and developers or builders with no knowledge of styles or sense of scale or proportion are putting up a two-and-half story hybrid from hell every other house. Myers Park, Dilworth, Plaza-Midwood, Sedgefield. At least your 'nimbys' as you guys like to call them are a little more protective of the historic thread of the dynamics of the close-in districts. Here, if it's not the hybrids replacing the inadequate tear downs, it's massive monolithic 5 or 6 story condo or apartment buildings going up on residential streets, and it's ruining the historic nature of the streetscapes.
